As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Senior Bike Mechanic.

Position Overview: As a Senior Bike Mechanic at Blacksmith Cycle, you will play a crucial role in our service department, ensuring the highest quality of bike repairs and maintenance. Leveraging your extensive experience, you'll provide technical expertise to our customers and contribute to the overall success of our service operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer guidance on complex repairs and maintenance procedures to customers.
  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of bicycle issues, including advanced troubleshooting of electronic shifting systems (Di2, AXS, EPS).
  • Possess knowledge of hydraulic brake systems and internal cable routing.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall shop efficiency and customer experience.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and advancements in bicycle mechanics.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and explaining repair processes to clients, in-person and through our service module system.
  • Assist in managing inventory, ensuring an adequate supply of parts and accessories.
  • Uphold a commitment to safety by following established industry procedures and guidelines for all repairs.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of full-time experience as a Bike Mechanic in a professional shop.
  • Proficiency with advanced diagnostics and repairs of hydraulic braking systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic shifting systems (Di2, AXS, EPS).
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications from reputable bicycle mechanic training programs (e.g., SRAM Technical School Completion, Shimano STEC Certified, Winterborne Bicycle Institute Certified, UBI Certification).
  • Experience and knowledge with Campagnolo.
  • Wheelbuilding experience.
  • Experience with intake, sales, and customer service is a plus.
