The Build: King Headset, Dura Ace 7900, TRP CX-9 brakes, Pro Stealth Evo bar/stem, KCNC collar, Yokozuna cables, Prologo Scratch Nack saddle (that Paul stole from me). Built as a Franken-bike CX / Road all-rounder.

"][/caption]The Ratings… Ride-quality/Comfort: So damn smooth it blows your mind. That's bamboo for you. Better than steel, if you can believe it. Front End Stiffness: Adequate, though I've never found a cross fork that I am totally in love with, and that includes the C'Dale Super X tapered monster. BB Stiffness: Old skool. Stiff, but with some feedback, like an old Litespeed or Merlin ti bike...quite choice. Style/Aesthetics: Eco-tech. Does your cx-bike have a top tube that is hand-carved for ease of carrying? I didn't think so. Technology/Weight/Value: It is a steamroller, built to your exact expectations. In road, cross, commuter, single speed...whatever. For less than most monocoque bikes that come out of a mould. Winning. Total: Renegade with a conscience.

The Bad: About 100 grams heavier than an all-carbon frame. That's about it. The Skinny: Stiff, light, smooth...choose all three, and add durable to the mix.
