Thursday Preview: SRAM Red 2012 Arrives

Posted by 4 on

Pleased to announce that our first two SRAM Red 2012 Groupsets have arrived and are for sale. Initial impressions have exceeded our expectations.  The "boy-racer" look we expected is much more muted, with a careful examination revealing a somewhat sophisticated aesthetic, with clean lines and rather forceful graphics. We always loved the Double-tap system and amazingly low weight of Red, and now with front shifting improvements, revised brake design, a quieter cassette, a beefier crankset and more ergonomic brifters, we've been left considering how much weight a SRAM Red group would chop of our own steeds! Beefier hidden arm crankset with nice UD shimmer: Shifters are very clean with improved shaping of the hoods and lever and new stickier rubber: Brakes are apparently more powerful but also offer better adjustment: Front derailleur was probably most in need of an overhaul, and boy have they done it: Please feel free to email or call to reserve on of our new Red groups, or look for them to pop up on a test bike in the coming weeks!
